"CSI" Nabs Laurence Fishburne

lfishburne.jpgLess than two weeks after hearing that "CSI" was wooing Laurence Fishburne, it seems that the producers have their man.

The Emmy-winning actor will replace regular William Petersen, who recently announced he would leave the show after the upcoming season's 10th episode. Petersen has been with the drama since its debut in 2000.

Fishburne has appeared in films such as "21," "What's Love Got to Do with It," "Apocalypse Now," and "The Matrix" trilogy. On "CSI," he will star as a doctor/scientist outsider who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer. He will make his first appearance in the ninth episode, says E! Online.

The ninth season of "CSI" will premiere October 9 on CBS. -- Rachel Cericola
