News on Season 7 of "24"

ksutherland.jpgIt's been a long time since I got my "24" fix, over a year to be exact, which makes the wait until January 2009 for the Season 7 premiere almost unbearable. Thank goodness there's some news from the set to keep fans interested until then.

First, the show has cast Jon Voight as the newest villain to spar against Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), according to MovieWeb. The actor, who has starred in everything from "National Treasure" to "Transformers," will be the bad guy behind all the terror attacks next season. Fans will see him first in the TV-movie prequel set for November 23 and then again during the second half of the new season.

MovieWeb also dug up some interesting scoop about the other players during Season 7. As has been reported for awhile, Tony Almeida (actor Carlos Bernard) will definitely be back and will supposedly be a bad guy. Also, an FBI agent named Renee Walker (played by Annie Wersching) will figure prominently into the show. Other interesting tidbits: CTU will no longer exist (at least not in its present state); the current year on the show is probably 2017; and it doesn't look like Jack will have a love interest this season.

In addition, producers say a "24" feature film could be a possibility one day, but not until the show ends for good. --Chris Sardelli

If it's set in 2017, I hope Jack Bauer gets a rocket-car or something similar to drive.
