NBC to Air Record-Setting Olympic Coverage

nbc-olympics.jpgWorried about missing some of your favorite Olympic competitions this summer? Well, have no fear Olympic aficionados, as NBC plans to air the most number of hours ever for a Summer Olympics.

As MovieWeb reported, NBC will air over 3,600 hours of coverage from the Beijing Olympic Games. What's surprising about that number is that it is over 1,000 more hours than the combined number of hours covered at all the Summer Olympics since 1960! That's a lot of pole vaults.

In addition, the coverage will be spread across seven of NBC Universal's television networks: NBC, USA, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo and Universal HD. And if that wasn't enough, people will be able to log on to NBCOlympics.com for even more content. This means that all 34 of the Olympics' games will be covered on television throughout the Olympics' 17 day schedule.

Get ready for Olympic-sized fun when the Opening Ceremony kicks things off on Friday, August 8 at 8 p.m. (8/8/08 at 8, Get it?) --Chris Sardelli
