Jay Leno Has End Date

conan2.jpg"The Tonight Show" staff can start planning Jay Leno's goodbye party.

The late-night host just found out that his final show will be May 29, 2009, says E! Online. Conan O'Brien will leave his 12:30 timeslot in the spring, with Jimmy Fallon filling his shoes shortly after. Conan will then take over "The Tonight Show" desk on June 1.

"'The Tonight Show' has a remarkable history rich in tradition. We're proud of each and every show Jay has shared with America as we look forward to Conan carrying on that outstanding tradition next year," said Rick Ludwin, NBC's chief late-night programmer. "We also can't wait for Jimmy to showcase his winning style following Conan. Jay has left his personal stamp on The Tonight Show for what will be 17 years. He is enormously creative, generous and professional."

Let's see what the network thinks if Leno moves to ABC -- a rumor that's been circulating. For now (and a while), Jay Leno will keep appearing each weeknight when "The Tonight Show" airs at 11:30 p.m. (EST) on NBC. -- Rachel Cericola

I adore Jay and when he is gone, my nights will probably go with David Letterman, or heck, I will just go to bed.
It has been a nice run for Jay and if and when he lands his next gig, I will tune in.
