Call it the Case of the Missing Cast Members.
With Jorja Fox's Sara long gone, Gary Dourdan's Warrick taking a dirt nap, and William Petersen's Grissom bailing on the show this fall, CBS is already searching for new ways to keep the show interesting.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a new cast member arrives this fall in the form of actress Lauren Lee Smith, who will play CSI Riley Adams. In addition, recurring cast members Liz Vassey, who plays lab tech Wendy, and David Berman, who stars as coroner David, just got promoted to series regulars. Most interestingly, the show is looking for a new lead male actor, and has reportedly looked at Kurt Russell, Laurence Fishburne and John Malkovich.
That's not all. The show also has plans to bring back the Miniature Killer for an episode, and there are some big plans for the show's 200th episode.
If that's too much change for you to handle, don't worry. Jorja Fox will be back for a few episodes next season, starting with the season premiere. Surprisingly, Warrick will be back for the premiere as well, although the producers aren't confirming whether he'll be alive or dead. Let's hope the changes work, or CBS may soon be investigating the Case of the Disappearing Audience. --Chris Sardelli
I think they are definitely going to be investigating the case of the missing audience, ratings went down after Jorja left..what do they imagine will happen after Billy goes?
-- Posted by: aussieforgood at July 16, 2008 10:02 AMI cannot believe that Grissom is going. Yes it will be the case of the disappearing audiences as we won't watch it again. We cannot stand CSI Miami or CSI New York and now this. It was bad when Jorja went and then Warrick, but now. Why do actors do this, they leave the one thing that made them famous and gives so much enjoyment to the world. I cannot believe it at all.
