"Law & Order: SVU" Hires New DA

Dick Wolf's trio of "Law & Order" shows are well-known for their ever-rotating cast changes. And this season will be no different on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," as actress Michaela McManus joins the cast.

The actress will play the show's newest assistant district attorney, according to MovieWeb. She replaces Diane Neal, whose character was forced out in the season finale due to inappropriate actions she took to convict a criminal. Rumors had initially said former ADA Alexandra Cabot, played by Stephanie March, would return to the show full-time.

McManus previously starred on the CW show "One Tree Hill" as book editor Lindsey Strauss.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," which also stars Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni and Ice-T, begins its tenth season on NBC this fall. --Chris Sardelli

Ok so I think that ppl need to get over the fact that Alex is not comming back. I REALLY liked her as ADA too but she is not comming back. ppl need to get over it! LoL

i love watching law and order svu its the best show...
All the cast are great actors and so is the director Dick Wolf who is behind these great shows...

I can't stand the new D.A. I'm thinking about not watching anymore until she's gone!! I love the show and all of the other characters!
