Jeff Goldblum Booked for "Law & Order: CI"

jgoldblum.jpgFor once it seems Vincent D'Onofrio might not be the quirkiest character on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," as quirky actor Jeff Goldblum joins the show this fall.

According to MovieWeb, Goldblum will replace Chris Noth's character next season. Noth joined the cast as a regular in 2005, starring in half of each season's episodes in order to ease D'Onofrio's work schedule. Goldblum will take over for him with the same arrangement, playing an as-yet unnamed detective.

Does anyone else think NBC is making up for canceling Goldblum's recent crime drama "Raines?" Whatever the reason, it will probably please fans of the show who appreciate D'Onofrio's eccentric character.

Talks are still underway to re-sign D'Onofrio to the show, but the show is still scheduled to start filming late this summer. --Chris Sardelli

what about "Detective Daniels"? He was great! I only watch VDO and Kate anyway ... "mr.Big" and his girls annoy me. I would watch Detective Daniels ... he was awesome.

Jeff Goldblum may mean the end of Criminal Intent. In my opinion, he's never done anything worthwhile and Raines was horrible. I suspect he will be equally horrendous on CI.
