The cast of "Crash" is rounding out nicely.
Starz announced today that icon Dennis Hopper will join the cast of the drama, which is based on the Oscar-winning film.
Hopper will star as Ben, a maverick music producer looking for a last big score. Clare Carey ("Jericho"), Luis Chavez ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") and Ross McCall ("Band of Brothers") also star. The show also has a lengthy list of producers, including the film's director, Paul Haggis, and actor Don Cheadle.
Like the movie, the L.A.-based drama will focus on a large cast of characters and how they intertwine, as well as issues of social tolerance.
The one-hour series is Starz's first attempt at an original drama; 13 episodes are scheduled to air. The writing team includes vets from "The Sopranos," "Deadwood," "The Wire" and "The Shield."
"Crash" will debut on Starz this October. -- Rachel Cericola
It's a shame this won't be aired on cable television...could have potentially had a heck of a following. That great writing staff, actors, and producers...on Starz? Sad.
