It looks as though CBS is going to cable to fill another timeslot.
Variety says that TBS has made a deal that will see "The Bill Engvall Show" on CBS for one night. Where do I start?
First of all, why Bill Engvall? If CBS wanted one of the network's sloppy seconds, why not go for something with more critical acclaim, such as "My Boys" or "10 Items or Less?" Even more puzzling is why the Eye would want a rerun. The network will actually air an episode from last season.
It doesn't matter. TBS is getting promotion for the series' new season and CBS will get future promo time. Everyone is happy -- except viewers, I'm guessing. At least when CBS picked up "Dexter," it gave viewers not willing to shell out cash for Showtime a chance to check out something new.
Either way, "The Bill Engvall Show" will air on CBS Monday at 8:00 p.m. (EST) The new season will start on TBS on June 12. -- Rachel Cericola
