Alfre Woodard Becomes NBC's "Enemy"

awoodard.jpgActress Alfre Woodard will have her hands full this fall when she plays the head of a spy agency, and Christian Slater's boss, on NBC's "My Own Worst Enemy."

Woodard, who sparred with both the Borg in "Star Trek: First Contact" and those crazy ladies on "Desperate Housewives," will be tackling the spy game as Slater's boss, Mavis Heller. MovieWeb reports she will head a secretive group called Janus, while maintaining an alter ego named Helen in the real world.

NBC picked up the show without even seeing a finished product, partly due to the interference caused in pilot production by the recent WGA writers strike. The show will focus on Slater's character, a family man named Henry, who also has a spy alter ego named Edward.

It sounds similar to the recently axed "Bionic Woman," so let's just hope NBC got the formula right this time. "My Own Worst Enemy" will debut on Mondays at 10 pm this fall. --Chris Sardelli
