Judy Greer Gets Another Series

jgreer.jpgThank goodness someone picked up Judy Greer for another comedy.

This hot little gem was squandered in last season's castoff comedy, "Miss Guided." Now HBO has scooped her up for "Suburban Shootout," a dark comedy based on the critically acclaimed British series.

Greer will find herself caught between two rival gangs of homicidal housewives. Barry Sonnenfeld ("Get Shorty," "Men in Black") will direct the pilot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is a chance that "Miss Guided" will be resurrected, in which case Greer will go with her commitment to ABC. Here's hoping for a cancellation, because even though I found that show to be decent, this one sounds like a much better role for her. Apparently, they have until June 30.

Kelly Preston, Kerri Kenney and Rachael Harris have already been cast in the HBO show. -- Rachel Cericola
