"Gong Show" Gets Revived

dattell.jpgLooks like they will be back soon -- with mor-re stuff.

Comedy Central has given the greenlight to "The Gong Show," which will be hosted by comedian Dave Attell.

Variety says that the show will follow the original model, with a panel of celebrities judging anywhere from eight to 10 offbeat acts. There's no word on which celebrities will appear, or whether or not there will be a replacement for my absolute favorite portion of the show, which can be seen in the video below.

"Stars will be made, feelings will be hurt," said Attell.

Eight half-hour episodes have been ordered, and will be backed by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions.

"The Gong Show with Dave Attell" will premiere July 17 on Comedy Central. -- Rachel Cericola
