"The Tudors" just kicked off its second season, but Showtime believes there is much more to this racy story.
The network announced that the drama will back for a third season, says Zap2it. Production will begin June 16 in Ireland, with a 2009 premiere in mind.
"'The Tudors' is now a fixture for us at Showtime, and we're on our way to completing the entire saga of all six wives of Henry VIII," says Robert Greenblatt, head of Showtime.
Season 3 will follow Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and his experiences with wife number 3 Jane Seymour (Anita Briem). This season, he is with Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer).
"The Tudors" airs every Sunday at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on Showtime. -- Rachel Cericola
