NBC just announced its new-and-improved schedule. Let's start with the obvious...
"Scrubs" is gone -- and it's kind of stinky. After so many years, why not give it the send-off that it so rightfully deserves? Apparently ABC agrees. Although there's no official word, the network (and parent company) is supposedly airing the show's final season. Weird!
"Bionic Woman" is also gone. This is a surprise to no one. Maybe if they had given Katee Sackhoff a bit more screen time, it could have salvaged the show. Instead, the network is swapping this out for another crap-o-riffic remake: "Knight Rider."
"Journeyman" was cancelled long before this list made its premiere. Lots of buzz about this one. It had a bit of a "Jericho" thing going on, and well... we all know how that worked out.
"Amnesia" and "1 vs. 100" were also pulled. How will the world survive without game shows hosted by comedians? Oh, that's right... they're a dime a dozen.
New shows include the "Office" spin-off, the Molly Shannon/Selma Blair comedy "Kath & Kim," an Ian McShane drama titled "Kings," Christian Slater's "My Own Worst Enemy," and a half hour of "Saturday Night Live" comedy -- on Thursdays.
Returning series include "Medium," "Lipstick Jungle," "Friday Night Lights," and a 15th and final season for "ER." For a complete look at the new and the returning, check out NBC's website. -- Rachel Cericola
Three cheers for Molly Shannon! Is her new show a readaptation of some British or Australian show? I'm getting a little memory trigger from that title. Either way, it's done by NBC, so I'm excited.
And they BETTER give Scrubs the send-off it deserves. We need to know what happens with J.D. and Elliott. The world will be eternally tarnished otherwise. Perhaps...we should all send scrub-brushes to NBC and ABC so our demands are met!
