It’s been awhile since Kathie Lee Gifford bragged about her children on national television. Well, the wait is over, as Gifford just signed on as co-host for NBC’s “Today.”
The former “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” star has assumed the role of co-host for the morning show’s fourth hour, according to MovieWeb. Along with co-host Hoda Kotb, Gifford will help deliver news, moderate discussions and welcome guests. Ann Curry will still host for the first two hours of the show, and then Al Roker and Natalie Morales take over for the third hour.
Kathie Lee, known for her detailed stories about her family life while she worked with Reege, has not returned to television since leaving “Live” in 2000. Asked why he chose her, “Today” executive producer Jim Bell is quoted on MovieWeb as saying she’s “on a short list of personalities known by her first name alone.”–Chris Sardelli
