Alicia Silverstone: "Bad Mother"

Alicia Silverstone has landed another sitcom.

The "Clueless" cutie will play the lead in ABC's "Bad Mother's Handbook."

For a while, Silverstone was being courted to play another "Mother" -- supposedly the one from the title of the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." (That role was taken by "Scrubs" star Sarah Chalke.)

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Bad Mother's Handbook" will star Silverstone as the 30-something mom of a teenage Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development"). Wow. I know Silverstone is 31, but the two look more like sisters!

Silverstone spent some sitcom time over at NBC for 2003's "Miss Match." She recently worked on another show for them, "The Singles Table." It never aired. -- Rachel Cericola
