Make way for more rich teenagers, monsters and high-flying heroes as some of The CW's most popular programs get set to return for the 2008-09 season.
According to MovieWeb, The CW just announced that "America's Next Top Model," "Gossip Girl," "One Tree Hill," "Smallville," "Supernatural" and "Everybody Hates Chris" have all been picked up for next season. Most of these shows have had long runs, including Tyra Banks' "Model" which will be back for its 11th and 12th seasons, and "Smallville" which will return for its eighth season.
The CW initially launched several new shows last fall, including "Aliens in America," "Life is Wild" and "Reaper," but "Gossip Girl" is as yet the only new show to be renewed. The Futon Critic lists "Life is Wild" as cancelled, "Aliens" as airing right now and "Reaper" set to return with new episodes this spring. --Chris Sardelli
