Fox Cancels "Jezebel James"

jezebel.jpgCould two sisters/opposites produce one baby? Apparently no one cares.

Fox has cancelled "The Return of Jezebel James." TV Guide's Michael Ausiello says the show aired just three episodes. Really... they actually let it go on that long? That's a long time in Fox-ville.

Maybe they were hoping that the show would catch on. It could have happened, considering it came from the mind of Amy Sherman-Palladino ("Gilmore Girls") and starred Parker Posey ("Best in Show") and Lauren Ambrose ("Six Feet Under").

Then again, did anyone catch any of the promos? Ugh -- they certainly weren't enticing anyone. A midseason premiere, Friday timeslot, and cut to the original 13 episodes ordered weren't exactly ringing endorsements either.

Posey and Ambrose seemed like a good pairing too -- just not in this premise. Did anyone watch? Give us your take in the comments section below.

For now, it doesn't look like Fox plans to air the remaining episodes. -- Rachel Cericola

I honestly felt that one of the problems with the show was the laugh track. Fox must not have gotten that, like Gilmore Girls before it, it was a DRAMAdy, not a COMEdy, and so should have been treated with the respect it was due. What's the point in filming a show and then not showing it? Are reruns that much better than unaired shows that they have deemed not worthy? When will they start basing cancellation on what we, the audience, feel? I loved the show from what I saw of it.

I watched this show online. I thought the premise was good. I liked Parker. She was was very funny. But beyond that the show felt very drab. The whole pregnancy thing was not beleivable and felt forced. I would definately watch another sitcom with Parker. I think with the right one she could have a hit. Just not this one.

It was definitely a little rough, but i felt it certainly had potential. Posey and Ambrose really are a great duo. I agree that the laugh track was very out of place - this show would've been much better shot like Sex & the City or Six Feet Under. I'm sad to see that it won't be back.
