NBC, CBS Putting Classic Shows on Web

hawaii5o.jpgYou no longer have to plunk down hundreds of dollars to buy (or rent) a season of "Star Trek." CBS wants to give away classic programming on its website.

The network is now offering full-length episodes from the first three seasons of "Trek," the first two for "The Twilight Zone," and the freshman seasons of "MacGyver," "Hawaii Five-O" and "Melrose Place."

Each of the episodes are streaming for free; you'll just have to sit through a few ads, of course.

The TV Squad says that more will be added in the upcoming months.

NBC just announced its offering of old shows, such as "The A-Team," "Emergency," "Night Gallery," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," "Miami Vice," the original "Battlestar Galactica" and "Buck Rogers" on its website. -- Rachel Cericola
