At this rate, Tom Selleck better get ready for "Magnum: The Next Generation."
Entertainment Weekly reports that last Sunday's "Knight Rider" movie, NBC's newest remake of a 1980s television show, debuted to stellar ratings. The two-hour movie pulled in an impressive 12.7 million viewers, the highest ratings for a TV movie since 2005's ABC movie "Their Eyes Were Watching God." With such impressive numbers, there's a good chance NBC will develop the show into a series this fall.
The movie starred Justin Bruening, an "All My Children" vet, as Mike Tracer, son to the original show's Michael Knight. During the course of the movie, Tracer joined forces with his old mentor, a secret crime-fighting organization and a talking car named K.I.T.T. (voiced by none other than Val Kilmer). And if that wasn't enough, the Hoff (a.k.a. David Hasselhoff) made a cameo as his old character.
Lately, it's been "I Love the ‘80s" over at NBC, first with last fall's "Bionic Woman" and then with the reboot of "American Gladiators" last month. What's next, an "A-Team" revival? Do you have any ideas for great 80s show revivals that should hit the air-waves? If so, post below! --Chris Sardelli
forget the Bionic Woman. What about the 6 Billion Dollar Man, New Buck Rogers, A Team, Dallas, Automan, Greatest American Hero, Voyagers, Quantum Leap, and Sliders. It would be good to see some of these old shows come back
