Suzanne Pleshette Dies

spleshette.jpgSuzanne Pleshette, the actress best known for playing her role as Bob Newhart's better half, has died. She was 70.

Pleshette had racked up a lot of roles in her 50-year career; her credits include Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," "Spirited Away" and TV's "Will & Grace." The AP also says that the actress spent some time on Broadway in "The Miracle Worker."

Pleshette also played a major part in one of TV Fodder's favorite TV finales of all-time; she had a brief, but hilarious role in the finale of "Newhart."

The actress underwent treatments for lung cancer in 2006, and had claimed herself to be cancer-free. She died yesterday evening of respiratory failure.

Married three times, her last husband, "Newhart" star Tom Poston, died in 2007. She had no children. -- Rachel Cericola
