Without the cameras, would the show go on? Possibly. NBC is talking with the Hollywood Foreign Press about cancelling or postponing its broadcast of the upcoming Golden Globes.
Surprisingly, it's not because of a lack of interest or another 2-hour episode of "Deal or No Deal." The HFPA is hoping that without cameras, the striking writers will let the stars cross picket lines to pick up their statues and make boring speeches.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the two entities are trying to find a "middle ground," meaning that they want the show to be postponed. Currently, the network is still planning to air the telecast.
