If there's one thing CBS needs more of, it's police dramas.
Sarcasm aside, the network that created a hundred "CSI"s, "Cold Case" and "Without a Trace" has revved up the procedural machine again with its newest cop drama "Flashpoint." According to MovieWeb, the network has already made plans to unveil the new show later this year.
"Flashpoint" sounds like a mash-up of "Criminal Minds" (there's another CBS show!) and "Third Watch," as its story follows several cops in the SRU (not sure what it stands for, but it's based on Toronto, Canada's Emergency Task Force). Expect drama to ooze from this show, as SRU members not only respond to emergencies, but they negotiate with criminals and profile bad guys as well.
Already on board for the new series are former "Veronica Mars" star Enrico Colantoni and Canadian actor Hugh Dillon. The show will be broadcast both on CBS and Canada's CTV. --Chris Sardelli
