Cast Announced for Fox's "Fringe"

Fox just announced casting for several roles in its upcoming sci-fi series "Fringe."

According to Entertainment Weekly, three actors have been added to J.J. Abrams' latest television effort. Tomas Arana ("Gladiator") will play a Homeland Security agent who heads the special Fringe Division, a department which investigates paranormal occurrences. Also cast are Kirk Acevedo ("OZ" and "The Black Donnelly's") and Mark Valley ("Boston Legal"), who will both play FBI agents.

"X-Files" fans must be salivating at the premise. "Fringe" will primarily focus on a female FBI agent investigating strange happenings with the help of a possibly delusional scientist. Fox has budgeted the two-hour pilot at $10 million, probably based on the success of Abrams' other out-of-the-box series, "Lost" and "Alias." It's tentatively scheduled to debut next season. --Chris Sardelli
