"Daily Show" & "Colbert" Returning Without Writers

scolbert.jpgWe're about to see just how funny Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert really are. Apparently both will return to their respective Comedy Central shows, sans writers, beginning January 7.

Will they be as funny? It might not matter to those starving for new entertainment.

Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel are all expected to return on January 2 as well. NY1 says that David Letterman will also join his late-night peers after the New Year. Letterman had been working with the strikers on a deal that would allow his staff to get back to work. However, the rumor is that the late-night king will show up for work with or without his writing staff.
