Sci Fi's newest made-for-TV movie is taking viewers back down the Yellow Brick Road, and Dorothy fanatics are in for a big surprise.
The newest incarnation of L. Frank Baum's classic story about the young girl from Kansas who rides a twister to OZ, which has been remade in several incarnations ranging from "The Wiz" to the Muppets to Broadway, is getting a 21st-century makeover in "Tin Man." Zooey Deschanel will play the title character, DG (a reference to the original character Dorothy Gale), a motorcycle-riding waitress thrown into the Outer Zone.
According to The Futon Critic, her companions include Glitch (played by Alan Cumming) who is missing half his brain; a feral creature named Raw (Raoul Trujillo) who lacks courage; and a former policeman named Cain (Neal McDonough), called a Tin Man because all policemen in O.Z. wear tin badges. Don't fret Wicked Witch lovers, DG must eventually face off against a nemesis named Azkadellia (Kathleen Robertson).
