Rosie Shopping for New Show

rosie-nip.jpgRosie O'Donnell has been out of a job ever since she left "The View" earlier this year, but she may soon be returning to television. MSNBC is currently developing a new talk show for her to potentially host.

The new program would be a primetime talk show to air 9 p.m. after Keith Olbermann's "Countdown," says Entertainment Weekly. It would focus on current events, a subject O'Donnell proved she could discuss on "The View." Neither Rosie nor the network have confirmed whether the deal is a sure thing, or when it will actually air.

There's no denying that the ratings for ABC's "The View" shot through the roof during Rosie's year-long stint on the show. According to Variety, this may be exactly the kind of attention MSNBC is looking for. The 9 p.m. timeslot has suffered against its main news competition, CNN's "Larry King Live" and Fox News Channel's "Hannity and Colmes," and the network may be banking on O'Donnell's outspokenness to draw viewers. --Chris Sardelli

Frankly, I don't care if she gets her own show. People obviously will watch... BUT, I wish she'd just pick a show and stick with it.

If she goes back to the Drakes cakes Rosie show of old where she was fun-loving and gushing over Tom Cruise - then okay, but if she is going to be the obnoxious cow she's been lately - I'm sure not watching it.

She needs to be more Ellen-ish (pre-doggie scandal).

She'd be perfect after Olbermann. Both of them could rival Stewart & Colbert. Except S & C intended to have comedy shows.

That would be awesome! Love Keith and Rosie... could Randi Rhodes fill in when either are on vacation?!!
