Cable network FX just announced plans to renew the Glenn Close legal drama "Damages" for two more seasons, despite low ratings.
Variety reports the show will be back for at least 26 more episodes, which is the equivalent of two seasons. Returning for the second season are Close, Rose Byrne and Tate Donovan. "Damages" will join the network's growing list of original series, including "The Riches," "Rescue Me," "The Shield," "Nip/Tuck," and "Dirt."
The first season of "Damages" featured a hardball lawyer, played by Glenn Close, as she fought to win a suit against a corrupt former CEO played by Ted Danson. The case lasted for 13 episodes and wowed critics. Unfortunately, it only caught on with a handful of viewers. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show drew just over 1 million viewers on average for first-run episodes.
The new season should start filming early next year, unless the writers strike is still in full swing. --Chris Sardelli
