Food Network Cancels "Emeril"

emeril.JPGThe house that Emeril built is closing its doors on the popular chef. The Food Network announced (via AP) that they will no longer run "Emeril Live."

Emeril Lagasse has been hosting the show for 10 years. It's not the first time Lagasse has seen a pink slip. His short-lived NBC sitcom was cancelled after just a few episodes in 2001.

Don't expect to see the chef's signature spice disappear from the air altogether though; he is still under contract with the network. "The Essence of Emeril" will also still air.

"Emeril Live" will end its production run on December 11. Until then, it airs every weeknight at 7:00 p.m. (EST) on Food Network. Check the network's website for other dates and times.
