Famous Singers Join "Choirs" on NBC

Hold on to your hats Michael Bolton fans! In preparation for a winter with few scripted shows, Bolton and several other famous singers will take part in NBC's newest singing competition, "Clash of the Choirs."

The singing battle will feature five well-known singers as they assemble choirs of regular people from their respective hometowns. Taking part in the vocal festivities are Bolton, Patti Labelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland and Blake Shelton, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Locations include Philadelphia, Houston and Oklahoma City.

Entertainment Weekly reports the celebrities will each assemble a 20-person choir and then rehearse with them. The five choirs will then battle each other over the course of a week in New York, with live eliminations each day until the winners are announced. Whoever wins gets to choose a gift for their hometown, such as a new gym or playground.

"Choirs" will air December 17-20 on NBC. --Chris Sardelli
