Bernie Mac is Back

bmac.jpgThe state of the sitcom is about to get a jolt -- call it a Mac attack.

Despite its cancellation of "The Bernie Mac Show," Zap2it says that Fox is back in business with Bernie Mac.

Even with the writers' strike, the network wheeled and dealed its way back into the actor/comedian's life. He will star in "Starting Under," a new multi-camera sitcom co-created by Bruce Helford ("The Drew Carey Show").

Mac will star as a divorced man living with his twenty-something son. For now, there's no word on who else will star on when the show is expected to go to pilot.

This will be Mac's third regular TV, which also included an 11-episode stint on "Moesha." He's also had plenty of big-screen success as well, starring in the "Ocean's" franchise, as well as "Guess Who" and "Transformers." -- Rachel Cericola
