Will "American Idol" lightening strike twice? More importantly, do you care?
This week, Fox is kicking off "The Next Great American Band," an "American Idol"-style competition that will ask the viewing audience to choose, well... you get the idea.
Fox hasn't even launched an official site for the show, yet there appears to be a lot of info leaking out onto the web. Whether you believe any of the claims, that's another story. What we do know: John Rzeznik (The Goo Goo Dolls), Sheila E. and Aussie Ian "Dicko" Dickson (Australian Idol) are judges; Dominic Bowden (New Zealand Idol) will host.
Also from what we've seen, you can expect a lot of hair and a lot of different musical genres.
Sticking with the winning "AI" formula, the show's premiere will feature auditions. However, they don't plan to drag it out; plenty of dreams will be crushed by the end of the 2-hour episode.
