To all you readers who picked "Gossip Girl" as the first to fail in our fall TV Deathpool -- well, there's always next year. The CW just announced the pick up of "Gossip Girl" for an entire season.
Besides earning its place on The CW's schedule, "Gossip Girl" also wins the distinct honor of being the first new series to be picked up this season. The Futon Critic reports "Girl" has pulled in an average of 3 million viewers so far. According to the website, the show is also very popular on unconventional platforms, like DVR and iTunes. Almost 21 percent more women recorded and watched the show later, as opposed to those who watched it live.
"Gossip Girl" stars Blake Lively (from "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants") as party girl/prep schooler Serena van der Woodsen, who returns to her school one year after mysteriously leaving. Kristen Bell, formerly of "Veronica Mars," narrates as the elusive blogger, Gossip Girl.
The show airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW. --Chris Sardelli
