After Ah-nold traveled to that big cyborg factory in the sky in 2003's "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," many fans of the franchise worried they'd never again follow John Connor in his quest to protect humanity. Fox plans to remedy that situation this spring with a new television show called "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
The Futon Critic reports the show will premiere as part of Fox's new Monday lineup in January, followed by the mid-season returner "24." Unfortunately, this means the current lineup of "Prison Break" and "K-Ville" will be shifted to other time slots. "Prison Break," which pulls in generally consistent ratings, will probably just be moved, while the fate of "K-Ville" is still up in the air. According to Entertainment Weekly, the New Orleans cop show has yet to be picked up for a full season.
Assuming the role of butt-kicking, cyborg slayer Sarah Connor is "300" star Lena Headey. Originally played by Linda Hamilton in the first two "Terminator" films, the character was killed off for the third film when Hamilton declined to join the cast. Seeing she's risen from the dead, the series probably focuses on the Connors soon after the second movie.
The show will also feature a new John Connor. Thomas Dekker, who many "Heroes" fans will recognize as Claire's confidant Zach from last season, will now battle Terminators alongside his mother in the new weekly television series. John was first played by Edward Furlong in the second movie, followed by Nick Stahl in the third.
