Steven Weber Gets a Sitcom

sweber.jpgIs anyone else excited? I am. Steven Weber has landed himself a sitcom. I was happy to see the guy on "Studio 60" last season, but c'mon -- the guy is made for comedy.

I even liked "Cursed"/"The Weber Show" -- and I am comfortable with admitting that. Now NBC has signed the actor to yet another gig. The comedy is called "Zip," says the TV Squad.

The 30-minute sitcom has Weber playing Trip Stringer, a guy who is down and out in Beverly Hills looking to make a buck with his buddies. The name Trip Stringer might be better for this guy than his actual name. That the character has three kids? I'm reserving judgement on that for now.

NBC reportedly passed on this show last year when it starred Rob Huebel ("Human Giant"). He's no Steven Weber. Poor guy. -- Rachel Cericola
