Philbin to Host New "Password"

regis.jpgThere are few certainties in life. Some say the only ones are death and taxes. Here's another one: Regis Philbin will always find work. So it's no surprise that CBS recently announced plans to revive the old game show "Password" with Regis at the helm.

After successfully hosting several game shows and reality specials over the last few years, including "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and "America's Got Talent," Entertainment Weekly reports Regis Philbin will host CBS's new "Million Dollar Password" later this season. The show, originally hosted by Allen Ludden from 1961-67, will pit two teams against each other as they uncover passwords. Both teams will include one celebrity and one regular contestant. Whichever team makes it through the first round can then risk it all in the million-dollar bonus round.

CBS has already ordered six hour-long episodes of "Password," and could extend the order if the show turns out to be as popular as "Millionaire." Judging by his popularity, though, people may not be able to resist the Reeg. --Chris Sardelli
