ABC Orders More "Samantha Who?"

capplegate.jpgHere's something Christina Applegate won't soon forget -- ABC just ordered six more scripts for her amnesiac comedy "Samantha Who?"

The show has been pulling in extremely high ratings, attracting an average of 14.6 million viewers in just two episodes, according to Zap2it. "Samantha Who?" features Applegate as a woman who wakes from a coma with no memory of her former life. Unfortunately, she soon finds out that she was a self-consumed meanie and tries to atone for all the bad things she's done.

"Samantha" will test how funny it really is when lead-in "Dancing With the Stars" finishes at the end of November. Despite the fact the show has such a popular lead-in, it has consistently kept more "Dancing" viewers than other shows have in that time slot.

At this rate, we may have to create a Fall TV Renewal Pool. Instead of shows dropping like flies, "Samantha Who?" just became the latest in a string of fall shows to either be renewed or promised extra episode scripts. Fox's "Back to You" and ABC's "Pushing Daisies" are guaranteed to stick around for the entire season, while shows like NBC's "Bionic Woman" and "Chuck" and CBS's "Cane" have all had their episode orders increased. The only shows canceled thus far have been Fox's "Nashville" and CBS's musical experiment gone wrong, "Viva Laughlin."
