What Did Everyone Think of "Chuck?"

zlevi.JPGI fell into the hype last night; I needed to tune in for NBC's "Chuck." Did anyone else watch?

Without getting into a whole recap (after all, this isn't "Chuck Fodder"), I want to bring up a few talking points...

• Was this guy that geeky? Working with the Nerd Herd does not a nerd make (although it's darn close). He kind of reminded me of "Ed" -- and Ed was hip and hot.
• How long will it take Chuck and Sarah to hook up? This season? Will it be a cliffhanger? Half-past-never?
• Bryce stole Chuck's girlfriend. Will Sarah be some kind of payback?
• Is Dale Dye the go-to-guy whenever they need a general/captain/sergeant type?
• When Sarah is seen at the end shopping in Buy More... would no one notice a hot chick like that constantly shopping in an electronics store?
• The show had some super-cool action scenes. Will that be in every episode? If so, I may have to keep watching. Especially during th Bryce parts, it reminded me a lot of "Alias."
• Who exactly does/did Bryce work for? Did I miss that? Will we see him again in flashbacks?
• Will they incorporate a lot of nerd skills into the action? Chuck using the porn virus to defuse the bomb was kind of cool, but how many times can that work -- and how believable is it that they wouldn't put a cap in him just to keep his geeky mitts off that thing?
• Shouldn't we have at least one episode where Chuck can't trust Sarah? I guess being hot buys you a lot of forgiveness.
• Loved the group hug. TV needs more of those.
• Big ups to casting Adam Baldwin from "My Bodyguard."

I thought the show was well worth the hype, but I am not sure I can dedicate another hour on my precious/overcrowded TiVo. How about you? -- Rachel Cericola

Unfortunately, I watch How I Met Your Mother on Monday nights at 8pm. I'll catch Chuck online or on DVD next year.

I loved this show. I thought Sarah looked like the receptionist from Ugly Betty. I thought Sarah and Bryce worked together and she's CIA.

Two words: Captain Awesome.

When Chuck returns home to his clearly "there's no way I can afford these digs on my salary" quaint cottage and the ninja/spy is there I burst out laughing. That scene was hysterical.

Is someone starting a blog on this?!

Oh my Connie... I laughed at the same part. Like I loved the Bryce action scenes, but that part was a definite highlight.

Not sure if we will get a blog going on this. The immediate answer is: no.

I wanted to see if there was some interest and what people thought...

I like Bryce's buddy/sidekick - I don't recall his name. He was great at visual comedy.

You mean Chuck's sidekick? Morgan? I keep reading people comparing him to Seth Green.

I liked it better when it was "Jake 2.0" on UPN several years back.

I sort of liked it although you really have to suspend reality when watching it. Jake 2.0 had nanites that fused with Jake, Chuck just read an email and all of a sudden he's Rain Man. Forgive me if I missed it, but did they say if he had photographic memory? How many Stanford engineering grads would actually work fixing PCs for $11 an hour, let alone sweat getting promoted to assistant manager?

Hey Erv: This is TV, so I am guessing you have to cut them SOME slack. However, I am GUESSING that this program is causing him to have flashbacks... not the photographic memory.

Also: Didn't they say he was kicked out of Stanford?

Yes, I meant Chuck. My friend said that too - that he looked like Seth Green but w/ black hair. I didn't see it at all.

I LOVED Jake 2.0. That was a great show. I have some of the eps on a promo DVD. I wish they would release it and Seven Days on DVD.

Chuck does not have an engi degree from Stanford- remember Morgan said "Bryce-who stole your girlfriend and got you kicked out of school?" - He said we went to Stanford but not that he had an engineering degree. This is one show where you have to "buy the premise-buy the bit" It is far fetched but its the funniest thing I have seen in a long time and the action sequences are awesome. I LOVED this show and will watch it. I hope that NBC gives it a good chance to build a strong audience, I think word of mouth will get more interested.

After watching Bionic Woman last night, I was more entertained with Chuck. Peg, I must have missed the line with getting kicked out of school. Thanks for pointing it out.
