TBS showed support for one of its newest original comedies this week by renewing "The Bill Engvall Show" for a second season. The sitcom revolves around a family counselor, played by Engvall, and his dysfunctional brood. Along for the ride are his wife played by actress Nancy Travis and his best friend played by long-time "Saturday Night Live" alum, and "Ladies Man" star, Tim Meadows. It premiered to healthy ratings according to TBS and airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
Bill Engvall's year just keeps getting better, especially with the announcement that he'll host The Comedy Festival at Caesars Palace this fall. Engvall, as it turns out, is a very successful comedian, despite the fact that you've probably never heard of him. He's starred on several television shows from "Designing Women" to "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," hosted music video countdowns on Country Music Television, joked alongside funnyman Larry the Cable Guy in the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" movies and even earned a Grammy nomination for his comedy album work.
