"O.C." Star Grows Roots on Fox's "The Oaks"

"O.C." fans are having a great week. First, Rachel Bilson (better known to fans as Summer Roberts) was added to the guest slate on NBC's new spy comedy "Chuck." Now Shannon Lucio returns to television as one of the leads on "The Oaks," Fox's new supernatural pilot.

Lucio played opposite pop-culture fanatic Seth Cohen (played by Adam Brody) on the hit show, showing up as Lindsay Gardner, an unknown branch on his family tree.

"The Oaks" focuses on three families who live in the same house but in three different time periods: 1968, 1988 and 2008. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucio stars as a young mother in 1968 whose child has just died. If that wasn't enough to deal with, she and her husband (recently cast Matt Lanter from "Commander in Chief") must contend with a malevolent spirit haunting their home. The premise sounds fun and leaves room for plenty of plot twists. Let's just hope it does better than "Vanished," one of Fox's failed stabs at the sci-fi/paranormal/thriller genre from last season.

Lucio and the rest of the cast are set to begin production on "The Oaks" this November. --Chris Sardelli
