Fox Pushes "Nashville"

nashville.jpgFox recently announced plans to remove new show “Nashville” from its schedule until October. The show, which was supposed to attract fans of both reality soaps and country music, failed to draw viewers during its time slot on Fridays at 9 p.m. According to Variety, the show averaged a measly 2.4 million viewers after two episodes.

The country-themed “docudrama,” as Reality Blurred calls it, followed several aspiring country singers as they tried to make it in the country music business. Included in the group of singing hopefuls is Terry Bradshaw’s daughter Rachel. The series looked similar to MTV’s fellow reality soap “Laguna Beach,” which is only appropriate because both shows are produced by the same production company.

“Nashville” will be replaced by repeats of Fox’s other ‘ville’ show, “K-Ville,” until a supposed return in October. Unfortunately for fans, it never bodes well for a series’ return when it’s pulled from a lineup after only two weeks.--Chris Sardelli
