"CSI: Miami" Character Rises From the Dead

rcochrane.jpgIf you thought "CSI: Miami" couldn't get any nuttier, get ready to be surprised. Rory Cochrane, who played crime investigator Tim Speedle on the hit TV show until 2004, will be back for two episodes this season, according to TV Guide.

While characters often return to their old haunts years after quitting (Sherry Stringfield left, returned and left again on "ER"), this guest star spot will be a little different. Speedle died in a bank shootout back in ‘04, a result of the actor's desire to pursue other options, so producers had to get creative about bringing him back. Thus, Speedle will be a figment of fellow crime tech Eric Delko's mind. Delko, played by Adam Rodriguez, still suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder from a shooting last season and will begin seeing the ghost of his dead friend.

Both Rodriguez and Emily Procter, who plays ballistics bombshell Calleigh Duquesne, told TV Guide how much they missed having Cochrane as a colleague. With the ratings for "CSI: Miami" through the roof last season, Cochrane is probably missing them too. -- Chris Sardelli
