Bret Somers Dies

Another "Match Game" regular has gone on to that great game show panel in the sky. Comedian and actress Brett Somers, who was a mainstay on the game show circuit in the '70s, has passed. She was 83.

According to the actresses' Web site, Somers passed on Saturday, September 15. Her son, Adam Klugman, said that she had battled both stomach and colon cancer.

Klugman was her only son from her 21-year marriage to "Odd Couple" actor Jack Klugman. Somers appeared in a number of episodes of that show as Klugman's ex-wife, even though the two were never actually divorced. She also appeared in episodes of "Barney Miller," "Love Boat," and others.

In addition to Klugman, Somers is also survived by her son David and daughter Leslie.

The GSN (also known as the Game Show Network) is planning a tribute to Somers this Saturday, airing a "Match Game" marathon, starting at 9:00 a.m. (EST) -- Rachel Cericola
