Bravo Announces New Dance Series

With high ratings and critical acclaim for two of its reality series, "Project Runway" and "Top Chef," Bravo recently announced plans for a dance competition series called "Step It Up." According to the network's press release, contestants will perform a different themed dance each week, leading to the final "call back" and a cash prize.

The premise sounds similar to Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance," but Bravo always has some twists in store. The producers plan on adding more real-life elements, like they do on "Runway" and "Chef." With planned episodes featuring auditions for a Vegas show and dancing in a music video, viewers can expect to see the competitors performing on more than just a television soundstage.

The show began casting today, with planned stops in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. A premiere date has not yet been announced.--Chris Sardelli
