Whoopi Joins "The View"

ABC just announced that actress Whoopi Goldberg will fill Rosie O'Donnell's seat on "The View."

She may have an Oscar, but will she be able to add excitement to daytime's drama queens? According to an article in the New York Times, it seems that Whoopi won't exactly live up to her name.

Despite the immediate fill-in for Rosie, the show still hasn't hired someone to replace Star Jones, who was fired from the show in 2006.

Goldberg won an Academy Award in 1991 for her supporting role in "Ghost." Aside from her new hosting duties, IMDB.com says she has two movies in the works.
