HBO Wants Alan Ball Vampire Series

apaquin.jpgIt looks like HBO is looking for some new "blood." The network has picked up the drama "True Blood" from "Six Feet Under" creator Alan Ball.

The series is based on the "Southern Vampire" books by Charlaine Harris, says Zap2it. It stars Anna Paquin ("X-Men") as a mind-reading waitress in a world inhabited by humans and vampires. Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, and Brook Kerr will also star.

Production is expected to start in the next few months No premiere date has been set yet. -- Rachel Cericola
