There's a lot of speculation that the 14th season of "ER" may be its last -- say it ain't so! Well if it is so, at least fans might be treated to a few familiar faces in the show's final season.
First off, let's just say this: There is no official word that the show is ending. TV Guide says there's no finale written and no one seems to have even hinted that the show is ready to retire.
That said, Noah Wyle (Dr. John Carter) is expected to pop into a few episodes -- and this time, those episodes will actually feature other cast members! His character will be in to check on his investment, Joshua Carter Center, which hasn't even been mentioned since Wyle's last episode.
Other former cast members the producers are talking with: Gloria Reuben (Jeanie Boulet, whose character exited in 1999 with HIV) and Julianna Margulies (Carol Hathaway). Ones they want to talk to: Eriq LaSalle (YES -- Dr. Benton!) and William H. Macy (David Morgenstern). Also expect maybe more Sally Field (Abby's mom) and Danny Glover (Pratt's dad).
Of course, everyone's also wondering if George Clooney will ever grace Cook County's doors ever again. Honestly, I can't see it happening. Can you?
