"Criminal Minds" Woos Joe Mantegna

jmantegna.jpgInstead of using his criminal mind to manipulate Springfield, "Criminal Minds" will be manipulating Fat Tony -- using a steady paycheck.

Actor Joe Mantegna has signed on to replace Mandy Patinkin on the CBS hit drama, "Criminal Minds."

Patinkin had left the show in July over "creative differences," says Entertainment Weekly. For the past few days, there had been rumors that Harvey Keitel would be the replacement. Talks fell through and CBS snapped up the veteran actor and regular "Simpsons" voice.

The third season of "Criminal Minds" will premiere Wednesday, September 26 on CBS. -- Rachel Cericola
