Wow... the CW really took a beating in its first year. Fans that expressed outrage over the cancellation of "7th Heaven," "Gilmore Girls," and "Reba" may find some salvation in their reality-TV-heavy fall lineup...
New Shows
Aliens in America: Sorry sci-fi fans; this new comedy has nothing to do with little green men or "Heroes." Instead, a young Muslim man is sent to live with Christians in a student exchange program. Let the wackiness begin!
Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants: There will be plenty of catfight possibilities when "Queer Eye" guy Carson Kressley, former Miss USA and current (?) Mrs. Travis Barker Shanna Moakler and Cynthia Garrett host eight episodes that team up mothers and daughters in a "no-holds-barred beauty pageant."
CW Now: Focusing on fashion, electronics and entertainment, the producers of "Extra" have created this newsy show for young adults with cash to burn.
Farmers Wants a Wife: One farm boy will find the city girl of his dreams -- and many more that are a total nightmare, I'm guessing.
Gossip Girl: They may have cancelled "Veronica Mars," but the network still scooped up its star Kristen Bell for the title character of this teen soap about a group of privileged students glued to the topics of an anonymous blogger.
Life is Wild: A veterinarian and his family go from big city to big game, after he relocates everyone to a game reserve in South Africa.
Online Nation: It's like Yahoo!, but on TV -- the show scours the Web for the best and most bizarre that the Internet has to offer. The network also promises some type of interactive feature where "viewers will be able to see what others are saying and communicate with them live on the air."
Reaper: Kevin Smith directed the pilot for this show, which finds a 21-year-old discovering that the reason his parents never gave him a hard time was because they sold his soul to the devil -- and what exactly that entails. It stars Bret Harrison. Guess we can add "The Loop" to Fox's cancelled list?
Cancelled
All of Us
Gilmore Girls
Reba
Runaway
7th Heaven
Veronica Mars
They still have "Smallville," "Supernatural" and "Everybody Hates Chris" to kick around, but will the CW make it through a second season? -- Rachel Cericola
I was disappointed to hear that the CW has decided to cancel Veronica Mars. This show is pretty much the only reason I tune into the CW.
Wasn't the CW called UPN? Anyways, most of these new shows sound like Mad TV skits, and it seems that CW is serving up FOX-quality programming, aka garbage.
