"Gilmore" Girl Tops Mom's Poll

lgraham.jpgYour mom gave birth to you, wiped your snotty nose and embarrassed you in front of your first six girlfriends. What better way to honor her this upcoming Mother's Day than to compare her to TV's top moms.

Apparently, mom was better off without dad after all, because single moms ruled TV.com's recent poll of the top TV moms. More than 8,000 people voted on which mom they'd rather call their own. Here are the results:

• Lorelai Gilmore, Gilmore Girls (33%)
• Marge Simpson, The Simpsons (13%)
• Niki Sanders, Heroes (12%)
• Lynette Scavo, Desperate Housewives (11%)
• Lois Griffin, Family Guy (9%)
• Nicole Trager, Kyle XY (5%)
• Annie Camden, 7th Heaven (5%)
• Carmela Soprano, The Sopranos (4%)
• Joy Turner, My Name is Earl (3%)

Were there no moms pre-2000? Mrs. Brady could take care of six kids (OK... she had Alice), Clair Huxtable brought home the bacon, and hell -- even Wilma Flintstone could beat giant pieces of prehistoric meat into edible meals.

This article is a lie - there is no such poll on TV.com.

YOU are the lie. I received a press release about it. I don't have time to make up crap like that... and if I did, wouldn't I have said TV Fodder did the poll?

:P
